Not meaning to bang on about this, but the best thing about #wildflowerhour (apart from the flowers, obvs) is the community. Flowers are amazing and we want to share how amazing they are and catch just a little bit of one another’s excitement about what we’ve discovered each week.
So why not spread the love even further? This week’s challenge is to go flower hunting with a friend. It might be your children/step-children. It might be that you go with a group of pals to hunt together for a particular plant. Or it might be that you encourage a friend to join in with #wildflowerhour for the first time this week, even though you’re at opposite ends of the country from one another. You can just tell them about our Twitter party between 8-9pm where we tweet pictures of the flowers we’ve found in Britain and Ireland, or invite them to join our Facebook group.
We’ll share some tips this week on good flowers to show children, for instance, and local botany groups that you might want to join to make friends, but tweet your own suggestions using #wildflowerfriends, or post them in the Facebook group, or add them to our blog post round-up this week and we’ll add them to this post. And use that #wildflowerfriends hashtag and the main, supreme, glorious #wildflowerhour hashtag (as we want to keep #wildflowerhour trending each week) before 9pm on Sunday night and we’ll show off the highlights the following week.
